// The problem it picks
Four hundred million repositories, and the one you would actually use sits three pages deep. Search rewards stars rather than fit, trending is a firehose, and neither one ever learns your taste.
// How it works
Onboarding takes two steps — languages and topics — and produces a feed. After that it is swipes: right to star, left to skip.
The starring is real. It goes to your GitHub account under your own authorisation, rather than into a wishlist that lives inside the app.
// What the swipes are for
Every swipe is a labelled preference signal. They are being collected now to train ranking later, which is the part that would make a feed worth having over a search box.
